[Santon - Tokeru] Acid Release - Acid Armor
Jutsu Name: Tokeru | Acid Armor
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Santon - Acid Release
Range: Self (1-10 cm max)
Hand Signs Requirement: -
Description:
Whilst it may be better characterized as one of the elementary techniques derived from Santon - it proves itself useful nonetheless. The procedure which forms the basis of the technique follows a simple-enough concept - continuously generate acidic-natured chakra throughout the individual's network of chakra. Immediately upon achieving an adequate amount of chakra, the energy is then directed toward one's sweat glands - prematurely causing the shinobi to secrete corrosive liquid from their pores; instead of actual sweat. While it may be described as an armor, the technique itself does not provide any actual defensive properties. The kinetic force behind a regular punch will easily puncture through the body - albeit at the cost of burning oneself (lest the punch creates a vacuum as to push away the acidic material). The technique in of itself is more-so for utility rather than combative purposes due to various faults; for example, the 'armor' does not stick to the user. Hence any high-speed movement, most notable Shunshin Jutsu, or otherwise high-level taijutsu, will 'flick away' any amount found upon the user's body. Likewise, suiton/fuuton ninjutsu will achieve a similar effect; albeit regular water or wind will prove unable to in most cases. The liquid derived from this particular technique does not last long - only for a single post, which thereafter, it fades away into nothing - regardless whether on the user or not. The 'armor' may potentially gain some range via being flicked off, albeit very poor (10 cm) and highly inaccurate.
The practitioner may choose to restrict the technique in three specific ways - thus it is somewhat an adaptive technique.

The practitioner may choose to restrict the technique in three specific ways - thus it is somewhat an adaptive technique.
- The most common application of the technique relies upon the user's ability to manipulate affected pores - granting the individual absolute control over which particular spot(s) discharge the destructive liquid. For example, the user may choose to apply the effects toward both wrists in an attempt of removing shackles; without the need of needlessly perspiring through every pore. One should take heed of this fact: the cost in chakra remains constant, regardless whether used to affect a limb, or the entire body.
- Another ingenious form of usage lies within the shinobi's ability to 'hold' - or rather refrain from immediately seeping chakra out of whichever pore(s). This form of subterfuge functions as a time-bomb, one which the user may detonate at will. Thus effectively proving useful during two scenarios: timing the detonation to coincide with the usage of another technique, or otherwise proving to be problematic toward those capable of sensing chakra fluctuation; greatly diminishing their ability to anticipate the technique. Naturally an upkeep of chakra exists in order to prevent immediate execution of the technique; if unable to pay, the technique is then used immediately.
- The amount of chakra channeled directly correlates the measure of acidity (pH) of the technique; therefore allowing the user to control how corrosive their 'sweat' is. As an example, should the user choose to exhaust an 'E-Rank' amount of chakra - rather than its true cost - the emerging liquid will retain a pH of 7; otherwise known as neutral, non-acidic. Likewise, should the individual pay an additional amount, the pH will reflect accordingly - becoming all the more corrosive. Hence different instances of the technique may potentially differ in acidity, allowing rudimentary tactics to be formed. A scenario such as: use a D-Rank equivalent once to instill caution within the opponent, and proceed to use the E-Rank equivalent whenever desiring to create space between the user and target. Perhaps even create a stronger variant as to throw-off someone whom thought there was nothing to fear - a piece of equipment resistant to corrosion, though only up to a certain rank of pH is truly affected. As a side-note, the maximum amount of chakra capable of reinforcing the technique, lies within the user's Ninjutsu Combat Style, and will correspondingly affect the upkeep costs.

Unless I overlooked something this is good. However, I will ask that a sustained Cost be made apparent. I would say E-rank sustained.

Please excuse me if I am misunderstanding what you are saying, though the technique already has sustain costs. The sustain cost directly correlates accordingly to the 'rank' of the technique - which is to say that E-Rank, will require E-Rank upkeep, S-Rank with S-Rank upkeep. Even then, the upkeep costs only applies when the user refrains from immediately executing the technique.
The technique in of itself is not a true 'mode' - it's a technique that lasts an instant, nor does it regenerate over time. When it's used, it's used. After the initial post, any unused amount will fade away to nothing and thus require to pay the chakra cost entirely to use the technique once more.
